FastPass+ Using it effectively, so you see and do everything on your list!

What is FastPass+ ?

It's a reservation window for an attraction and lets you use an express lane to board a ride. This means when the sign says "Standy-by Wait time: 180 minutes" you get to breeze right onto the ride and not waste 3 hours on line!

The Basics:

You get 3 initial FastPass+ reservations per day, and they all need to be made at one Disney Park (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios). They can be booked 60 days prior to the first day of your trip. You can book all the FastPass+ reservations for all of your days at this time, as long as you are staying at a Disney property. This is one of the biggest selling points for me to stay at Disney properties, you get a jump start at booking the hardest FastPass+ reservations. This means you can then plan your day around these times, so you can see other attractions in between. Once you have used your first 3 FP+ you can add additional FP+ reservations, one at a time. These can be for any park, not necessarily the same one as the initial 3.

My strategy:

I like to book FastPass+ for late morning/early afternoon. As a family we are up early and like to get to the parks early and ride other rides that typically get very busy (Think 7 Dwarves Mine Train or Space Mountain) then do our FP+ reservations and eat lunch. Once you scan your MagicBand on your 3rd attraction you have the chance to add additional FP+ reservations on the MyDisneyExperience App. This is a great chance to book an FP+ for a different park if you are going to Park Hop. (Think after dinner at Epcot or another park when you plan to see some evening entertainment).

Bottom line:

FastPass+ can really help your trip run smoothly, but you need a great touring plan to work with these reservations so you can see and do everything on your list!
